Everytime you have incoming message to your Mail, you will realize that there is a sound echoed by your Mail. This sound is set as New Mail Sound by your Mail default. The fun thing here is you can set this incoming Mail sound with custom sound.
Do you want to this setting custom Mail sound can be done?
Setting Custom Mail Sound
It's amazingly easy to set custom incoming Mail sound and I feel that I'm surprisingly careless that I've just spotted this trick after long time using Mac. Here are the simple steps you need to follow:
-
Choose your sound and drag it into ~/Library/Sounds
You can add any type of sounds here, from short sound effects to long songs. If I were you, I will use the former one. -
Open your Mail Preferences Pane (Command-Comma)
- Go under General section
-
Look for New mail sound pop-up menu and choose the sound you want Mail to use
The test sound will be played. If you accidentally click on the wrong song, you cannot stop the song unless you quit Mail.
- Additional tip: if you only want the sound to be played on incoming Mail, you can untick the checkbox just below the pop-up menu.
Upon searching for new ringtone, I stumbled on this cute and adorable video..
You're My Honeybunch
Youtubing (my term to replace searching in YouTube) around, I found the original singer. No, this has no connection with setting your incoming Mail sound, but I cannot resist to mention her cuteness.
I am the 5,454,061st person to view her act, so everybody should agree that she is cute, isn't she?
