Advertisements

I know maybe this doesn't have strong relation with Mac, but I cannot resist to post this the most hilarious hidden feature of Firefox 3: The Robots!

You can try it, open your Firefox 3 (I believe you've downloaded it) and then type in the url address about:robots.

Special thanks to all Firefox 3 contributors that I cannot spell their name one by one. But you can see who are they inside about:credits.

And you should remember this: Don't bite the robots!

In Brazilian Portuguese Version, if you click in "try again" the button changes and display "Don`t click on this button again", if you click a second time, the button`s disappears! Maybe in US English works too!

The page header "Klaatu Barada Nickto" is the spell the main character used in the movie Army of Darkness (Evil Dead part III)
The one that says robots have shiny metal posteriors which should not be bite is a reference to the show Futuramama where one of the main characters, Bender the Robot commonly says "Bite my shiny metal a--!"

I'm sure you all know this, though.

Yap, and those robots .. have a plan! Cool! Sounds like the Cilons in Battlestar Gallactica :)

That has to be a Battlestar Galactica reference.... this is hilarious.

Originally, even before "The Army of Darkness", "Klaatu barada nikto!" is a phrase used in the film "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (1951), used to control a giant robot that came to the Earth with an alien.

@umich2010

Its a reference to Asimov; it's sorta based on his Three Laws of Robotics.

The Cylons were created by Man.
They Rebelled.
They Evolved.
They Look
And Feel
Human.
Some are programmed to think they are Human.
There are many copies.
And they have a Plan.
