There are times when you want to take screenshot of webpages, but obviously you can't use simple print screen which can only take part of the webpage as big as your screen display. So what should you do to capture the whole webpage?
Recently, I've found this nice Safari plugin called Saft, which is a Shareware. Saft gives you ability to have a screenshot of entire webpage and save it as a PDF file with a single click.
If you don't like to export the webpage as PDF, you got other alternative application called Paparazzi!. After downloading Paparazzi! 0.4.3, you can capture the entire webpage in various formats: JPEG, PDF, PNG or TIFF by providing the url for the page.
So, which one do you like to use for taking screenshot of a webpage?

I simply press print and then saves it as a PDF. Make sure print background is selected. Maybe it doesn't always work tho...
I have both, but normaly I prefer to use Paparazzi!, because I can save it as an image and then crop the parts I need with Preview.
If you're using print to save it as PDF, you will need to set the paper size or else, you will end up splitting the webpage into several pages. :-)
WebSnapper is my new web page screenshot fav. It allows me to save several pages into one pdf. It also takes a screenshot of the page no matter what state I am in. I do SEO testing so it is a great way to capture a clients site with stylesheets, images, and javascript off (try that with Paparazzi). And it's only $15. Not bad at all!
Um, i think Paparazzi is not yet Leopard compatible. Or am i wrong? Sorry, just visited their website and it says there that upon launching the application in Leopard, it'll crash (the application, i mean). Thus, i use ClipIt! for the longest time. It does the work and have no complaints so far.
The beta version of Paparazzi! 0.5 will definitely crash on Leopard. But I am currently using Paparazzi! 0.4.3, it works well with my Leopard.
Paparazzi development has essentially ceased, and as Wendy mentions. 0.5 is a shell --- looks nice but doesn't run correctly, even on Tiger. SnapWeb is more mature. None of them can create a PDF that includes searchable text + the first frame of a Flash video. So if you want to archive a web page you have to forgo being able to search the text, limiting usefulness, or the Flash, which doesn't preserve the look. I can't find a Mac version of WebSnapper. If it's Windows-only I don't see the point of George's post on this blog. And the ability to capture code is akin to a web site sucker, a different animal anyway.
I have to agree with George's comment about WebSnapper. I love the fact that it has its own button in Safari so I don't have to use another app to get a quick screenshot.
Mac (leopard) has its own short cut to take these screen shoot. Command + Shift + 3 for entire screen. Command + Shift + 4 for certain picture by windowing you selection. The screen shot will be saved automatically as jpg on desktop. We can save as another extension later
Is there such a plugin for Firefox? Also, is there a free one? I might pay the 12 bucks for saft but would be interested in knowing if there was one for free.
Ok, I just tried this paparazzi. I cant get it to take a pic of the whole page. It just takes a screenshot of the top part of the page. Any ideas?
sorry, it does take a pic of the whole page, but in ultra-skinny format which is unviewable, unless you turn on the crop settings. Sorry, i'm here cause I can barely use my MAC, so I'm trying to learn.....
Page Capture is a simple widget that will do this from the Dashboard.
Was looking for something that would capture an entire page and Paparazzi! is simple, easy to use and great options for an export. Thanks for writing this piece. Helped a lot.
