This surfing activities could be really frustrating if you heavily depend on your mouse. I highly recommend you to get your hand away from your mouse and start to practice mouse-less browsing with your keyboard, i.e. using keyboard shortcuts.

It won't spend you more than an hour to have a glance and practice some of these Firefox shortcuts that I've compiled. I also include keyboard shortcuts for Windows Firefox to emphasize on the idea that it's not that hard to adapt yourself to new Mac environment, especially for new Mac switchers.

It might sound ridiculous, but if in FF, the cmd-[1-9] would invoke the corresponding bookmark bar bookmark instead of the corresponding tab, I would switch tomorrow.

Just an amendment, CTRL-H works on Windows to open the History Sidebar as well. Yep. And Shift-Delete works in both windows and mac (correct me if I'm wrong, I recall using it on my mac previously) to remove Auto-Complete items from the Address Bar as well as form fields. Cheers! I love FF for it's shortcuts. IMHO it's the best keyboard browser that's non-text-based (haha, so don't talk about Lynx). I use ['] and / shortcuts all the time to jump to a certain link or part of the page near a form control then press Enter/Return to click the button/link. :)

I like vimperator add-on for Firefox. It is a very cool add-on based on VIM (vi improved). Basically, with h, j, k, l keys you can move around, o for open new link, y copy or yank, t for new tab, r for refresh, / for searching, n for searching next, ! for command, and many more VIM keys available! No need to use mouse and toolbar. That's why the initial view of firefox with no address, toobar visible. It was strange at the begging. Trust me, just try a few days, with muscle memory power, you would not using browser without it! I enjoy browsing with only keyboard most of time.

For those on a Mac having trouble when hitting Cmd-Left in a text editor (which in some cases will take you back to the previous page, rather than move your cursor to the start of the current line): you might want to use the keyconfig add-on to disable Cmd-Left, Cmd-Right and even Delete/Backspace. (More details at macosxhints.com.) As for Cmd-L: remember the name "Location bar" rather than "Address bar" :-)
