Certain icon has certain specialty of their field. What I want to discuss here is the unbeatable features of application icons that lay inside your Dock. Curious?

Find the Origin

It's just like our mouse acts as a detective. click on your icon, then it will return the exact location of that icon. However, the icon have to live inside your Dock.

This finder window opened when I perform this action on the "System Preference" icon on my Dock.

One-one Rule, Open One Hide One

Sometimes you need to eliminate other from your sight after receiving the new one, so your viewing field won't get too crowded. When you perform Click on one of your icon, that icon will show up and the previous window in your view point will be hidden.

If it's too many application inside your view zone, hide it all and keep only the one you need. Click on that one you want to keep right at the icon and something like this will appear.

It's asking you what to do. But what you need here is not inside there, try pressing , the menu will change for your sake.

Choose "Hide Others" and get the clean and tidy display of your Mac. Only one will survive, the chosen one..
