There is a way to make your rating and display, i.e. by switching your view to Column View. Column View Switcher button is located at the top left-hand corner of your Finder Pane.
After changing the view, you can create columns, arrange columns option or eliminate some of them. All of this can be done under Show View Options which can be triggered using keystroke Command-J. You may choose any categories for your column. But in order to show your rating, you have to display the Comments Column.
Most of you may see your Comments Column for all files are filled with __. This happens because you've never touched your Spotlight Comment. Spotlight Comment is located inside Inspector pane which can be opened with keystrokes Command-Option-I. Every words you type inside Spotlight Comment field will appear at Comments Column.
I make my ratings with Apple which can be generated with keystrokes Option-Shift-K.
However, you've to fill the files' rating one by one. This will be the most tedious part of this display. But it's more benefit than disadvantage, you can Sort them by your rating and you can Spotlight them with your rating as keyword. In example below, I sort them by Date Created.
